Bulbul Sharma is a Delhi-based painter and writer. You can find her paintings in the National Gallery of Modern Art and the Lalit Kala Akademi in Delhi and in Chandigarh Museum.
She has published several books, which include My Sainted Aunts (Penguin); Anger of Aubergines (Kali for Women); Devi (Penguin); Grey Hornbills at Dusk (Aleph); Murder at the Happy Home for the Aged (Penguin), and Love and Learning under the Magnolia (Westland Amazon). Her books for children include Fabled Book of Gods and Demons (Puffin), The Children’s Ramayana (Puffin) and Walking through the Hills (Tota Books). Her books have been translated into Italian, French, German, Chinese, Spanish and Finnish.
Apart from writing and illustrating, Bulbul conducts ‘Storypainting’ workshops for special needs children and is a founder-member of Sannidhi – an NGO that works in village schools of Himachal Pradesh
